Perform the duties prescribed in the bylaws as follows:
To engage in evaluation and make recommendations to the Vice President for Academic
Affairs concerning academic departmental structure.
To promote cooperation between administration and academic departments.
To examine and make recommendations to the Senate and Vice President for Academic
Affairs concerning those aspects of academic policy that pertain to academic programs
and administration.
To review reports on departmental student/faculty ratios, and to make recommendations
on the status of proposed changes in student/faculty ratios.
Continue to work with the Registrar to oversee the College’s registration override
procedures and best practices in order to ensure academic integrity. Report to the
Academic Senate.
Continue to work with the Administration to review the process for allocating tech
funds in line with departmental needs. Develop recommendations and report to the Academic
Senate.
#Educate your department about Open Educational Resources (OER) and consider meaningful
ways to integrate OER into your program.
#Working with department faculty, Area Deans and the Interim Vice President of Academic
Affairs, review, discuss and plan feasible options to implement Guided Pathways (transfer
pathways), the addition of micro-credentials to your program, and NCC 101 for the
2019-2020 academic year.
