Professional Practices

Meetings will follow the schedule published by the Academic Senate. Subcommittee meetings will be scheduled at the discretion of the chair and members of the each subcommittee.

 

Duties

This committee shall serve as a channel to improve and maintain the spirit of academic freedom and integrity. In this role, the Committee is to serve as a vehicle for the expression of individual and collective grievances of faculty members. (See Appendix II)

Membership

The Committee shall be composed of five tenured faculty members and one alternate all of the rank of Associate or Full Professor. They shall be elected by the faculty and shall serve staggered two-year terms, with three members being elected in even-numbered years and two members plus alternate being elected in odd-numbered years. No member may concurrently serve on the Grievance Appeal Panel. Membership of the Professional Practices Committee shall be limited to no more than one member from any academic department.
