To study and recommend policies with regard to applied learning in those areas within
the jurisdiction of the Academic Senate.
To continue to update the Applied Learning Handbook.
To work with the Dean of Applied Learning to grow collaborations with local colleges,
universities, and the community to enhance opportunities for applied learning at NCC.
To further campus-wide understanding and adoption of applied learning practices.
To assist in the development of a tracking system that acknowledges applied learning
on student transcripts and allows NCC to track the number of students who participate
in applied learning.
To develop a system for vetting both curricular and co-curricular applied learning
experiences.
To work with the Dean of Applied Learning to highlight best practices in the Applied
Learning Newsletter and in annual symposia and/or workshops.
*Develop the committee’s Procedure Manual. Provide both a hard copy and an electronic
copy to be housed in the Academic Senate Office.
*Promote and support applied learning experiences and opportunities, including but
not limited to encouraging faculty and departmental participation.
