  1. Perform the duties prescribed in the bylaws as follows:
    1. To promote awareness of the needs of and sensitivity to persons with disabilities.
    2. To review reports from administrators and faculty specialists on disabilities and to advise on issues that may lead to improvement of services.
    3. To become familiar, through briefings by administrators and faculty disability specialists, with the legal rights and resources for persons with disabilities.
    4. To encourage faculty development activities in these areas.
  2. *Develop a survey of campus to determine accessible/inaccessible locations and report findings to appropriate administrators and members of the committee. Report to the Academic Senate by March 2019.
  3. *Prepare a spring publication of the Discovery New Horizons newsletter that invites the college community to submit articles related to disabilities.
  4. *Coordinate workshop events to promote disability awareness.
  5. *Host the Spring Faculty Recognition Awards Ceremony and luncheon to recognize student –nominated teachers who are outstanding in their dedication to students with disabilities.
  6. #Work towards developing a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) book to enhance awareness of policies and procedures that address the needs of persons with disabilities.
  7. *Investigate technology to assist faculty and students with accessibility to educational resources, such as note taking, Blackboard and other resources
